This is the bag you should carry at all times. It contains items you use all of the time and limited extra supplies. The idea is, you're always prepared and can get back home in an emergency, but you aren't over-burdened.
This bag is packed for a quick overnight trip. Toiletries and clothes. The idea being you can take off at a moment's notice and don't have to worry about packing.
Everything but the kitchen sink. This is most likely a backpack that will sustain you in a comprehensive survival situation.
4 Days worth of food for hard hiking. Plan for 5000 calories/day. Target weight <5 pounds. Favor powdered and processed foods for weight savings. You aren't going to become vitamin deficient in 4 days.
