Welcome to my Blog!

Get Moving!

I finished the Florida section of the Eastern Continental Trail on April 26, 2011. This segment took me from the tropical party city of Key West, through the forests and swamps of Florida, and across the gulf islands to Pensacola.

I took a long break to visit family in Mobile, then party at the annual Annapolis Croquet match with good friends, and finally take a long overdue visit to my sister in Baton Rouge. After a healthy dose of society, I'm itching to get back on the trail.

The next segment of my trek is a bike ride from Pensacola, FL to Springer Mountain, GA. There I will pick up the Appalachian Trail and head north to Canada. While I'm enjoying the culture of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, I need to get moving if I am to make the Canadian border by Halloween.

I plan to resume my journey from Pensacola this Thrusday, May 12. Check back then to track my progress and for the official start of the Thought of the Day blog!
